Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
