New Year Revelers Told to Bundle Up with Wintry Weather Expected Throughout the UK
Meteorologists are reporting a chilly beginning to the new year, with wintry precipitation expected over large parts of the UK. Those celebrating are being urged to dress warmly as near-freezing temperatures are predicted for New Year's Eve.
Celebratory Celebrations Go Ahead Amid Warnings
The Scottish capital's famous Hogmanay events are set to go ahead, a contrast to last year's cancellation. This is in spite of yellow warnings for snow in northern Scotland.

Temperatures Forecast to Fall Even More

Approximately 10cm of snow is forecast to have settled in some areas by Friday morning, reaching up to 30cm on the most elevated routes and peaks.
