Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance After Narrating Disputed Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has provided his voice to a recent film that challenges the safety of vaccinations and lauds former government figure RFK Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for allegations that the illness was a result of a problematic version of the influenza shot.
The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with controversial media personality Alex Jones. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.
An Unequivocal Denial
Representatives for the actor have provided a comment strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine views.
"We all understand that misconduct may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be confused with rejection of vaccines," the statement states. "He is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His long work with the UN children's agency highlights his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
The response continued that the performer had no hand in the project's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Central Themes In the Feature
According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
- It declares that "science has become dangerously politicised."
- RFK Jr is featured claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- The film also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it references a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Previous Controversy and Current Debates
It also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a BBC apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO confirming no such link has been found.
A Previous Position of Endorsement
Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has previously expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's script stating, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the beginning of a different phase."
